SCREEN PRINTING VS DTG ( DIRECT TO GARMENT PRINTING )
What is SCREEN PRINTING ?
SCREEN PRINTING involves creating a stencil for every color to be placed on the SHIRT. INK is then pushed through the open portions of the screen to create the image or pattern. Each color has a separate screen and is printing individually. This method of printing requires a minimum order due to its extensive work in preparing to print the SHIRT.
What is DTG – Direct to Garment Printing ?
Digital printing newer process that involves your design being processed by a computer, and then printed directly onto the surface of your SHIRT. Digital printing also known as DTG or direct to garment printing is not a heat transfer or appliqu’e, as the ink is directly adhered to the fabric of your shirt. Because the ink is embedded into the fibers of your SHIRT, the brightness of the print cannot be compared to a SCREEN PRINTED shirt. Each printing process has its pros and cons, DTG enables customers to get custom shirts done with no limit for a fraction of the cost to SCREEN PRINT. DTG also allows the customer to have a full digital color PRINT with no color limitation. However when ordering bulk, SCREEN PRINTING will save you money.
